Junior swim fit

For ages 13yrs-17yrs

Stage 7 to club level

Join us for fun and friendly weekly training sessions, to help you get fit, improve your stroke technique, master diving and tumble turns, develop strength and stamina, and enjoy playing water polo and water volleyball.

Our Junior Swim Fit sessions are suitable for teenagers, from 13 - 17 years old. When our swimmers reach 18, they often join the Adult Swim Fit class to continue with their swimming fitness.

You don’t need to be a fast swimmer to join this group - you just need to enjoy swimming and be able to swim lengths of the swimming pool. Don’t worry if your stroke technique isn’t that good - we will help you develop your technique in all of the 4 main strokes - Frontcrawl, backstroke, breaststoke and Butterfly. We recommend that swimmers are able to swim at least 100m confidently.

This group is small - usually between 6 - 12 swimmers, and we will give you lots of individual attention, tips and techniques, as well as lots of support and encouragement to motivate you to achieve your personal goals. Swimmers join the group to keep fit, meet new people, achieve goals such as the physical section in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and other school/college goals and personal goals/challenges.

Our Swim Fit Sessions take place in either the 25m pool at Ferndown Leisure Centre or the 17m pool at St. Michael’s Middle School (Please note, there is no diving at St. Michaels). Please check the booking system for the current location.

  • Full-Body Conditioning: Swimming engages all major muscle groups, including the back, core, arms, and legs - for improved strength and endurance.
